For Pediatric Sedation Teams

Institution-affiliated individual learners as well as groups of team-based providers who participate in pediatric procedural sedation would benefit by combining the online learning system with the sedation simulation package. This package is comprised of simulation scenarios with a final learner test scenario, airway workshop and tailoring sedation PBLD’s.

The simulation portion of the SPS Sedation Provider Course® provides the software and debriefing instructions to deliver six case-based simulated sedation scenarios. These scenarios are designed to be performed using high-fidelity patient simulators on the most common platforms including Laerdal, Gaumard and CAE.

These scenarios are designed to be performed using high-fidelity patient simulators on the most common platforms including Laerdal, Gaumard and CAE. Delivery of this simulation-based learning may be fully customized, delivered one-at-time to groups of learners as “just-in-time” or “mock code”-type education, or combined as a structured day course. The airway skills workshop focuses on basic and advanced airway techniques to manage common sedation-related adverse events. Tailoring sedation problem-based learning discussions review core principles of procedural sedation through a case-based format. Cases commonly encountered by Pediatric Critical Care, Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine can be selected reflecting the small group preferences.
